| Whether you need a warm break from your home
climate, some relief from
work, or time just to relax, few vacations are as easy to plan as a few
days or a week at the Kona Reef,
Unit D-3.
This condo is fully furnished with everything you'll need, including
beach towels and an ice chest. You just need to pack your toothbrush
and swim suit and you're ready for a great vacation!
In Hawaii, discounts generally start
with a week's duration. A week's
car rental and a week's condo rental will be less than the cost of 7
days. For 2010 reservations, stay
for 7 nights and pay for just 6 nights.
To check
availability for this condo, go to the
listing for Kona Reef, Unit D-3
on the Sunquest
website. Sunquest is the property management company that manages this
property. Go to the very bottom of the page and put in the date you'd
like to arrive with the number of nights
you'd like to stay. Click the bar that says "Search for my
accomodations" and you'll be able to see (with no obligation) if those
dates are available. After deciding on your travel dates, make your
initial contact with the owner in order to get owner-direct rates (10%
off the regular rate). Once the initial booking is done with the owner,
Sunquest will handle all payment and other arrangements. To contact
the
owner, call Jan at (800) 490-4829 (California time) or e-mail her at Jan@KonaOceanfrontCondo.com.
You'll probably want a car for your stay. All the
major car rental
companies operate on the Big Island. Many have special online weekly
rates. You'll be picking up your car at the Kona Airport (abbreviated
KOA.)
Now
all you need is a plane reservation. If you're coming from California,
American, Delta, Hawaiian, Alaska, and United Airlines
have non-stop
flights to Kona from San Francisco, Los
Angeles, and
Orange County. Northwest and Alaska Airlines fly from Seattle to Kona
and Delta has a non-stop flight from Salt Lake City. During the winter
months, Air Canada flies directly from Vancouver to Kona while United
flies from Denver. If you're coming from anyplace else, all major
airlines fly to Honolulu and it's just a 35 minute inter-island trip
(via Go! or Hawaiian Airlines) from Honolulu to Kona.
Now you're set. You'll arrive at Kona Airport on
your scheduled
day and drive just 7 miles to the Kona Reef in your rental car. Once
there, you'll sit back and relax by the pool or on your private lanai.
When you feel like it, you'll walk to one of the Kona restaurants or
drive to the grocery store to get what you need for your barbecue.
Later in the week, maybe you'll tour a bit of the Island, do some
snorkeling, or go to one of the world-class beaches that are about 45
minutes north of Kona.
It will be hard to get back on that plane at the
end of the
week but, guaranteed, you'll be returning home fully relaxed after your
week in the sun.
